Progressive math/post-rock
The Italian trio has released four albums, of which their latest, Liminal (2024), redefines the math-rock label that has been attached to the group and creates new music inspired by jazz, EDM, and film scores and many more.
The liminal describes a place where norms and rules are temporarily lifted and tested. Setting their musical expression completely free, the group playfully mixes drum’n’bass, noise and dream pop into a dystopian futurism. In the song “The Ritual”, the pavement pounds with acid rain in an epic, neon lit post-apocalyptic megacity. Liminal is a wonderful ménage à trois, a polyamorous meeting between electronic, synthetic and acoustic music that reminds us that musical genres are dynamic and open.
