a colossal weekend
A COLOSSAL WEEKEND is a yearly, three-day celebration of genre crossing, boundary pushing, and experimental music within the realm of ‘heavy’, unfolding in and around VEGA in Copenhagen, Denmark.

We explore what 'heavy' music can become – how it can be expanded, reimagined, and understood beyond fixed genre boundaries. Our ambition is to create spaces where artists and audiences meet in shifting constellations: across scenes, formats, and collaborations, allowing new connections to take shape.

A COLOSSAL WEEKEND first took place in 2016 and has since presented pioneers, established artists, and debutants alike. At its core, the festival is about community, connection, and low-end frequencies.

A COLOSSAL WEEKEND is powered by VEGA and remains 100% independent and 100% non-profit. VEGA is operated by a foundation, meaning any surplus is reinvested directly into music. Popular concerts help finance our work with emerging artists and our broader efforts to develop live music, including A COLOSSAL WEEKEND.

VEGA and A COLOSSAL WEEKEND operate under a zero-tolerance policy. We do not accept discrimination based on gender, race, religion, or sexual orientation, nor any form of violence or verbal harassment. Please contact staff if you experience or witness any such behaviour.

VEGA and A COLOSSAL WEEKEND are sponsored and supported by TUBORG + THE CITY OF COPENHAGEN, LIVEUROPE, NORDIC CULTURAL FOUNDATION.
