BLACKENED HARDCORE / EXTREME HARDCORE / PUNK

THROWE arrive with no interest in softening the blow. Based in Copenhagen and formed in 2018 from the remains of Justinhate, the band carried years of shared experience straight into a new project defined by severity and resolve. They quickly became known in the Danish underground for a pitch-black, Danish-language form of hardcore focused on torment, powerlessness, and confrontation with inner demons. This approach was set in place with the critically acclaimed debut album Forfald (2022, Ugly And Proud Records / Helldog Records). Shortly after its release, THROWE dissolved, before returning with a new lineup and continuing along the same line through the split release Splittelse (2024, Vinyltroll Records) with Sloevsind.

What sets THROWE apart is their refusal to let songs develop or escape themselves. Repetition is used as a means of erosion rather than progression, with riffs grinding in place and structures resisting forward motion. The rhythm section prioritises drag and weight over drive, while the vocals are delivered as blunt, direct statements rather than narratives. Nothing is framed or explained; ideas are pressed until they give way. The result is music that feels deliberately coarse and insistent, defined by fixation and persistence rather than variation.

WHAT TO EXPECT
A THROWE performance is a sustained beating rather than a sequence of songs. The band lock into repetition and refuse to let go, driving the same figures through volume, weight, and sheer insistence. Sweat builds, bodies collide, and the music keeps grinding forward without pause or release. Nothing opens up, nothing lightens, and nothing is resolved. The set holds its grip from start to finish, forcing the room to endure the pressure rather than escape it.
