The Arkansas-quartet have set a solid footprint on modern-day doom metal with their relentless walls of hazy and massive guitar distortion, and the mournful tenor of Brett Campbell. On their fifth full-length album Minds Burn Alive (2024) they are stripping everything back a notch only to allow for increased emotional weight.
MindBurns Alive offers a perspective into the pain of everyday life, of loneliness, mental breakdown, and the feeling of emotionally drowning in a world turning upside down. Yet, it is not simply an exposition on those complex feelings. It is the musical intersection where struggle in life collides with the will to carry on.
