LYSBAERER
Lysbaerer move deliberately through melancholy, darkness, and scale, treating each as an active force rather than a mood. Formed as a Danish duo by Jamie de la Sencerie and Thomas Mascagni, the project was built around a desire for creative freedom and the space to let ideas unfold without compromise. Their work centres on existential thresholds, tracing fear, mistrust, farewell, and the pull towards salvation through music that lingers between life and death. This universe is introduced with I Som Et Lys I Natten, Må Vi Alle Finde Frelse, the first part of a trilogy conceived as a continuous journey rather than isolated releases.
The sound of Lysbaerer balances emotional weight with sheer mass. Rooted in post-black metal but consciously stretching beyond its classical frame, the duo construct dense layers of sound that move between restraint and vast, almost cosmic expanses. Walls of distortion are paired with melodic threads that carry the emotional narrative forward, while lyrics and instrumentation remain tightly bound to one another. Everything is shaped with intent, reflecting a DIY approach where scale is achieved through focus and control rather than excess.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Live, Lysbaerer emphasise immersion over immediacy. Performances unfold in sustained, enveloping movements, where volume, texture, and atmosphere merge into a single, saturated presence. The sound presses forward without haste, allowing heaviness and nuance to coexist, and drawing the listener into a space that feels both expansive and inward-facing.
