GRAVA
(

)
Sludge
The Danish trio plays atmospheric sludge metal and has released two albums, Weight of God (2022) and recently The Great White Nothing (2024).
In their own words, Grava plays songs about moments of death as seen through the eyes of the dying. Through the eyes of 128 crew members who died on the Franklin expedition in the Arctic in 1845, a Swedish nobleman who was executed in 1707, 40 passengers in a tragic train accident just outside Copenhagen, a soldier dying in his muddy World War I trench. The sound of these glimpses of life ending is bleak, unpolished, and crushing. Death leaves lifeless the gaze, in one song slowly, in another abruptly, and the music stops.
